Binturong Audio

Software for real musician problems.

I'm a software engineer who plays guitar, building honest, buy-once tools for musicians. First up: accurate transcription. Play your guitar, and the tab is written for you.

bintured

Play. The tab writes itself.

bintured listens to your guitar and writes down what you played, as notes, tab, and a score you can open in MuseScore, Guitar Pro, or Logic.

A score and tab written by bintured from a recorded blues jam in Drop D, showing half-step and whole-step bends and a hammer-on and pull-off.

How I do business

  1. Buy it once

No subscriptions. You pay a fair price once, and the software is yours.

  2. Maintained for life

If you bought it, it keeps working: bug fixes and operating system updates for the whole life of the product.

  3. Honest about what works

Accuracy is measured against published research datasets, and every feature is labeled as working today or still planned.

  4. Your music stays yours

Results are saved in open formats that other tools read. Nothing is locked inside an app.

A walk through bintured's transcription engine, from a recording to a score with bends and hammer-ons, and how every change gets measured.

Built by a player, for players

I spend my days building secure, carefully engineered software, and my evenings with a guitar. Binturong Audio brings the two together: real engineering, aimed at the problems I run into every time I play.
